The thing that gets me about these two moments is the way David and Martin completely perfected the art of portraying utter heartbreak and loss without any facial expressions whatsoever. They’re just so empty looking, and that’s what makes these moments as terribly emotional as they are.
People always ask me why Reichenbach is so emotionally draining for me. After all, you know Sherlock’s not really dead, so no harm done.
I hope that, after this post, you will no longer wonder.
Cabin Pressure 3x05 Rotterdam-
Martin Crieff: Listen, um, do you live in Fitton, Martin?
Martin Davenport: Yes.
Martin Crieff: Do you want to go for a drink sometime?
Martin Davenport: Martin, look, I’m really sorry but I’m not-
Martin Crieff: Oh no, no! Nor am I! Do you want to go for a pint? A pint of bitter? Or stout?
Martin Davenport: Oh yes, of course…I’d like that, Martin.
Martin Crieff: So would I, Martin.
Sherlock 1x01 A Study in Pink-
John: You don’t have a girlfriend then?
Sherlock: Girlfriend? No. Not really my area.
John: Oh, right. Do you have a boyfriend? Which is fine by the way.
Sherlock: I know it’s fine.
John: So you’ve got a boyfriend.
Sherlock: No.
John: Okay. You’re unattached, just like me.
Sherlock: John, um, I think you should know that I consider myself married to my work and, while I’m flattered by your interest, I’m really not looking for anything.
John: No, no I’m not asking- No. I’m just saying, it’s all fine.
Sherlock: Good.
My favorite thing is that Benedict has been on both sides of this conversation.

Quotes that will emotionally break me every time [4/7]:
“Goodbye, John.”

I actually can’t even wrap my mind around how much I love Sherlock.

I was just checking out a Benedict Cumberbatch post I made earlier.
As I was scrolling, the miniature John on my blog sat down, looked at Benedict and said “Remarkable”

By the time I’d taken a screenshot and saved it, mini John had moved and sat on Benedict’s shoulder.

Now, I’m no Johnlock shipper, but I almost died from the cuteness.
